Self-care in February - The 3 Barrels method

Self-care in February. No to Toxins and Stress!

February - The backwater of the year. - Yuk!

January, with all its New Year resolutions, 'Dry-January' and the 'New Year, New Me' mantras has now gone. February is often variable weather, credit card bills and a return to usual daily business grind. Spring still seems far away and that pressing need for sunshine, longer days and being able to go outside without being either soaked or hit by a windswept trampoline is yearned!

At this time, it is very easy to slip back into previous habits and this includes not putting self-care as a priority. With so many distractions and responsibilities it is easy for you to fall down the list of importance. Let's change that.

I regularly post the image of the 3 Barrels as it is a reminder to you to make a concerted choice to self-care and to share this principle to those around you too. Your environments and habits create who you are and what you do, so choose wisely! If everyone around you is feeling low or has stress and the blues, then that can project out to you, picking up second-hand negativity. It's a bit like passive smoking.

The Common Life barrel, particularly in February, is how the majority of the country feels. With the happenings and politics of the UK and globally, the doom and gloom MSM, etc, etc, it won't take much for you to shift to the Overloaded Life barrel. When that happens much is impacted and there is always a ripple effect towards others. With the increase of stress and toxins, your physical and mental health will suffer. The stress chemicals (particularly Cortisol) long-term in your body compromise your immune system and then you could potentially become ill. That's the last thing you need on top of all this and that is why it is vital that you become more self-aware and actively self-care.

What can be done?
The fact that you have already decided which barrel you have and are still reading this means you have taken an interest, so you've already started your recovery!

Look at what toxins you ingest; diet, chemicals, environmental, media, alcohol, etc and can you limit or remove these?
What stresses can you alter or remove? Is it a need to alter your environment such as at work, at home, relationships or financial?
Is there something that has always been a challenge or issue for you, such as a trauma, phobia or anxiety that you try to hide or 'work around' and doing so causes more stress?

Now is your chance to make a conscious decision to make the changes and choose to have the Ideal Life barrel. Yes, things happen in life and sometimes unexpectedly. However, by having plenty of space in your barrel for those challenges and moments, you remain in control, healthy and mentally resilient. By learning the most effective and fastest tools/methods you can be pro-active in your care.

Sometimes, you need assistance with all this and if that is the nature of your situation, then let's have a chat.
